Cannabidiol (CBD) is becoming an increasingly popular natural remedy for its therapeutic attributes (anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, pain). CBD is a phytocannabinoid discovered in the 1940’s and is 1 of 100+ cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. CBD exists both in agricultural hemp, as well as medical cannabis. Cannabinoids exist in many plants, but cannabis is the only known plant that contains CBD (cannabidiol).

There is some misunderstanding related to the difference between THC and CBD (tetrahydrocannabinol). CBD and THC have very similar chemical formulas but have different atom arrangements.

Although they are two primary cannabinoids from cannabis and interact with the cannabinoids receptors in the brain, they differ dramatically in their effects. CBD is a non-psychoactive and does not give a “high” feeling, whereas THC is the main psychoactive component of cannabis.

How does CBD work?
CBD can be used a variety of ways. Our CBD (add link direct to cart) can be used orally or applied topically. When you ingest CBD it works with a system called the ECS (endocannabinoid system). The ECS is a biological system that restores balance. CBD stimulates the ECS and supports promoting homeostasis in the body, reducing sensation of pain and inhibiting inflammation.
